InterCity Coachlines operates the largest national bus and coach network within New Zealand, transporting kiwis and international visitors around New Zealand for more than 30 years.

With over 150 daily services, InterCity Coachlines national and regional bus and coach services travel to more than 600 towns, cities, skifields and major tourist destinations, with a range of affordable fares starting from NZ$1.00.

InterCity operates a fleet of modern eco-friendly buses and coaches featuring reclining seats with foot and head rests and are fully air conditioned for passenger comfort. InterCity buses and coaches do not have onboard toilet facilities.

All InterCity's long distance and regional passenger services do stop regularly for comfort and refreshment breaks.

InterCity Link provides regular bus services to smaller regional centres in association with local bus operators.

InterCity Coachlines operates the Starlighter overnight coach services that operate between Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua, Taupo, Palmerston North and Wellington connecting with Cook Strait ferry services operating between Wellington and Picton.

The Starlighter overnight service features reclining seats with foot and head rests, individual air-conditioning controls and reading light, onboard toilet/washroom facilities and makes two refreshment/comfort stops on route.

InterCity Coachlines is identified as 'IC' and InterCity Link as 'IL'.

Reservations can be made for combined bus and Interislander ferry travel from Paihia, Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua, Palmerston North or Wellington to Christchurch, Picton, Blenheim, Kaikoura or Nelson. Using the FareFinder - type or select 'Paihia, Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua, Palmerston North or Wellington' in the 'From' field and type or select 'Christchurch, Picton, Blenheim, Kaikoura or Nelson' in the 'To' field as your final destination.  If travelling from Christchurch, Kaikoura, Blenheim Nelson or Picton to Wellington, Palmerston North, Rotorua, Hamilton, Auckland or Paihia - type or select 'Christchurch, Kaikoura, Blenheim, Nelson or Picton' in the 'From' field and type or select 'Wellington, Palmerston North, Rotorua, Hamilton, Auckland or Paihia' in the 'To' field as your final destination.

Reservations for drop off at Christchurch International Airport on InterCity Coachlines northbound services from Invercargill, Te Anau, Timaru, Oamaru, Ashburton, Dunedin and Queenstown to Christchurch

Reservations to and from Auckland International Airport to any southbound destination outside of the greater Auckland urban region can be made either from the International or domestic terminals.

Reservations for bus and coach travel within the greater Auckland urban region can not be made, as these services are local commuter services.

With Flexi Coach Pass, you can travel at your own pace on the InterCity Coachlines national network. All Flexi Coach Passes are sold in blocks of 'Travel' time, the number of travel 'Trips' or choose from a range of pre-planned travel options, allowing you to travel on regular InterCity and Newmans bus/coach services or on any Great Sights premier sightseeing journeys in any direction as many times as your Flexi Coach Pass allows for up to 12 months from date of first travel.
