Bus/coach services are now operating between Christchurch and Kaikoura. Bus/coach services between and between Kaikoura, Blenheim Picton and Nelson and
combined bus/coach and ferry services  between Kaikoura and Wellington have been cancelled until further notice due to 14 Nov 16 North Canterbury earthquake.
All other bus/coach services in the North and South Islands are operating to normal timetables

InterCity CoachInterCity operates a fleet of modern eco-friendly buses and coaches featuring reclining seats with foot and head rests and are fully air conditioned for passenger comfort. InterCity buses and coaches do not have onboard toilet facilities.

All InterCity's long distance and regional passenger services do stop regularly for comfort and refreshment breaks.

InterCity Link provides regular bus services to smaller regional centres in association with local bus operators.

InterCity Coachlines operates the Starlighter overnight coach services that operate between Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua, Taupo, Palmerston North and Wellington connecting with Cook Strait ferry services operating between Wellington and Picton.

The Starlighter overnight service features reclining seats with foot and head rests, individual air-conditioning controls and reading light, onboard toilet/washroom facilities and makes two refreshment/comfort stops on route.

InterCity Coachlines GOLD seats - soft leather reclining seats with head and foot rests complete with individual USB charging ports, are located on the lower deck of the double decker coaches on the Auckland to Wellington daytime and the Wellington to Rotorua and Auckland Starlighter overnight double decker coach services and the first 3 rows on the single deck Auckland to New Plymouth coach service, the Wellington to Palmerston North, Hastings and Napier coach services and the Christchurch to Kaikoura, Plenheim and Picton coach services.

These seats provide plenty of room to stretch your legs, lie back and relax and log onto wifi. The best thing is, they don't cost a lot more than the regular fare!

All InterCity buses and coaches have seamless 3G and 4G mobile Wi-Fi access across all InterCity regional and long distance routes within New Zealand.

Reservations can be made for combined bus and
Cook Strait ferry travel from Paihia (Bay of Islands), Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua, Palmerston North or Wellington to Picton, Blenheim or Nelson. InterCity CoachReservations for drop off at Christchurch International Airport on InterCity Coachlines northbound services from Invercargill, Te Anau, Timaru, Oamaru, Ashburton, Dunedin and Queenstown to Christchurch

Reservations to and from Auckland International Airport to any southbound destination outside of the greater Auckland urban region can be made either from the International or domestic terminals.

Reservations for bus and coach travel within the greater Auckland urban region can not be made, as these services are local commuter services.

With a 'Book As You Go' flexi bus and ferry pass, you can travel at your own pace on the InterCity Coachlines national network. All 'Book As You Go' bus and ferry pass are available in blocks of travel 'Hours', the number of travel 'Trips' or choose from a range of pre-planned travel options, allowing you to travel on regular InterCity and Newmans bus/coach services or on any Great Sights premier sightseeing journeys in any direction as many times up to 12 months from date of first travel.
