Australia's
Gold Coast is virtually four holiday destinations in one. In the north you will
discover historic Beenleigh, exciting theme parks, world-class golf courses, the
spectacular Southport Broadwater and South Stradbroke Island. The central Gold
Coast is a beachfront playground and shopper's paradise rolled into one, where
you will find dazzling Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach, international hotels,
restaurants and nightclubs.
To the south are the twin towns
of Coolangatta and Tweed Heads, fabulous sporting clubs, secluded beaches,
picturesque farmlands and national parks. The lush green backdrop to the Gold
Coast's golden coastline is known as the Hinterland and includes
sub-tropical rainforests, waterfalls and bushwalking tracks, mountain villages
and guest houses, craft galleries, farm stay resorts and World Heritage National
Parks.
The
Gold Coast's lush Hinterland region provides spectacular views, bushwalking,
camping and abseiling adventures with renowned adventure operators plus mountain
and rainforest hideaways, all within a 30 minute drive of the beaches. Lamington
National Park is renowned as Australia's largest reserve of subtropical
rainforest and offers some 160km of walking tracks. Other wilderness areas
featuring spectacular scenery, waterfalls, rock pools and abundant flora and
fauna include Springbrook National Park and the Tamborine National Parks. |
